Original artwork, existing only as a physical Oil painting on canvas.
Inspired to create this painting as a tribute to an exceptional sportsman who was taken too soon.
This piece consists of multiple layers of oil and glazes on canvas. Using Palette Knives, brushes and occassionally, hands. Finished with fine details and highlights.
It takes a plenty of time and patience painting all the fine details. I really had fun with the more abstract areas, sculpting movement into the canvas with palette knives.
The yellow jersey really pops off the canvas contrasting with the skin tones and glistening sweat.
