Mike Tyson was one of the best boxers to ever grace the sport of boxing. He was powerful, fast, direct, ruthless and exciting to watch. Who better as a subject for an oil painting?!
This painting captures the brief moment before the bell sounds. All the work has been done behind the scenes, time to be calm and focus.
This piece consists of multiple layers of oil paint and glazes on canvas. Painted using Palette Knives, brushes and occassionally, hands.
I really enjoyed adding the pores on the face and the shimmer on the shorts.
While it may seem tedious at the time it's always worth adding all the fine detail as it makes such a difference to the finish.
