The end of this world is only the start of another. Just like a painting!
I have Apocalyptic dreams quite often where the world is on fire and blackened bodies line the streets! The whole environment crisp and crumbling into the sea.
I decided to bring this mixed media painting to life on canvas during the 2020 Lockdown. I felt so inspired by the destruction and change we were seeing all around us during that time. As a painter it felt too poignant to not capture in the form of artwork.
I wanted to create layers of narrative with emotion and beautiful atmosphere but also terrifying and dark. I achieved this using an Acrylic base with Oil Paint over the top layers of the canvas.
I love using Persian Blue and golden oranges in a lot of my painting which you can see here across this abstract landscape.
